2.  Renovation of Auditorium

· Addition of third floor is prohibited by zoning restrictions

· Renovate the auditorium into four classrooms, offices and a chapel

à Loss of auditorium gathering space means church would have to use lower or upper church parlor for congregational gatherings & alternative worship space

à Unfavorable traffic flow in LCP for worship or all-church meals

à Access by stairs or elevator required for use of UCP; kitchen would be on a different floor

· Keep the auditorium as an open, large gathering space

à Perform necessary renovations for general maintenance, climate control and marketability as leased space

à Architect Ernie Harris worked on this design and has estimated construction costs at $250,000  (see page 4)

 

3.  Renovation of Breezeway between Lower Church Parlor & Auditorium (architect Ernie Harris)

· Currently wasted space

· Create a main entrance to the church facilities from the back driveway

· Space would include the Admin. Asst.’s office and serve as the main reception area

· Cost prohibitive for current consideration

à Estimated construction cost = $650,000

à It is, perhaps, an idea to incorporate into a long range plan, along with appropriate and helpful signage on the property

 

4.  Sitework

· Reconfiguration and repaving of parking lot

· Landscaping

· Estimated cost = $250,000

 

 

 

 Funding Possibilities

 

· Capital campaign  (1993 restoration capital campaign raised about $450,000 from our congregation)

· Loan/mortgage:  how do we manage an additional monthly financial obligation?

· Sale of Church House property (approximately $1M)

· Grants (unknown)
