If you are new to our church
family or simply new to the Southern Westchester County area we hope you will allow us to welcome you. On Sunday mornings
you will find our doors open, ready to receive you into our shared worship of God and around
our communion table.
Quarterly, throughout the year,
we offer a
membership program, consisting of a series of dinners where we explore together the
Christian faith,
opportunities for ministry at MUMC,
and our Methodist tradition. These dinners provide a setting in which we open our minds
and hearts to one another, thereby being strengthened and challenged by
the unique experiences each person brings to
the table.
If you are interested in
becoming a part of our church family, please contact the church office at

or call us at (914) 698-4343 so we can help you connect in this way.
1. Why Membership?
While our worship and service
opportunities are open to everyone, member of our congregation or not, we hope that you will
consider making the decision to become a member. Church membership is not an empty
obligation, nor does it have privileges as in the phrase "membership has its privileges."
Rather, membership is a sign of a relationship.
We value signs of commitment
in nearly every intentional human relationship: the passing on of surnames to children, the
sharing of rings in marriage, the changing of logos in corporate mergers. Like the rings,
names, and logos, there is nothing magical about church membership. It is simply a
declaration of a relationship. But also like names, rings and logos, there is something
significant about it; in other words it signifies something: that we are committed to one
another and to the shared work of loving God and neighbor in this congregation, and
with the Church throughout the world.
If you feel called to this, we
hope you will speak with Pastor Richard or Pastor Sabrina; or
email or call the church
(914) 698-4343 office
to schedule an appointment.
2. Christian Faith
and Spiritual Growth
Christian education shapes lives. We believe this,
and so our programs of Christian Formation have as their goal the enriching and transforming
of lives. We believe individuals at every stage of life, and at every stage of the life
of faith, are vital in our community. We are all learners and all teachers, from
three-month-olds to ninety-three-year-olds.

3. Opportunities for Ministry
Serving with others is one of the
best ways to get to know people and build meaningful, lasting relationships. There are several
volunteer ministries at MUMC. Learn how you can

and
serve others outside our Church.
